ISLAMIC COMMUNITY CENTER OF VERMONT
WHAT IS ISLAM?

Our Identity and Purpose

Our organization, located in Winooski, Vermont, United States, is an Islamic institution dedicated to fostering moral development and creating a just and well-educated society. We firmly believe that within a democratic framework, moral capacity encompasses both religious principles and our governing document. Recognizing the compatibility between Islamic values and civic principles, we strive to enhance our capacity as an organization to fulfill our identity and mission.

Human Capacity: At our core, we believe that every human being is created as a representative of God (Allah) on Earth, endowed with inherent worth and the ability to discern goodness, grow in knowledge, promote justice, and govern for the betterment of all. Each individual possesses a God-given purpose and unique gifts that can contribute to the common good. We emphasize the importance of developing both moral and civic capacities to fulfill personal purpose within the broader society.
